About Us – Solar Association

Solar Association was established in 2017 with a simple yet powerful idea — unity creates opportunity.

Our journey began with a small WhatsApp group formed to connect people working in the solar and renewable energy sector. At that time, WhatsApp allowed only 100 members per group, so as interest grew, we created multiple groups to accommodate the expanding community. What started as informal networking soon transformed into a strong, purpose-driven movement.

Recognizing the potential and responsibility of this growing community, the members collectively decided to formalize the initiative. This led to the creation of Solar Association as a registered NGO, dedicated to promoting renewable energy, supporting businesses, creating jobs, and driving sustainable development.

International Exposure & Global Collaboration

Solar Association has taken active steps to build international partnerships. Our members have visited China, where we engaged directly with Chinese solar associations and leading solar companies.

During this visit:

  • Chinese solar companies offered a free Solar Association stall at the Guangzhou (China) Solar Expo
  • Our members participated in the expo for three days
  • Solar Association members were introduced to major Chinese manufacturers
  • Several companies expressed a strong interest in entering the Indian market and partnering with Indian companies

These interactions opened new doors for global business collaboration, technology exchange, and international trade opportunities.

Rural Development & Social Impact

Solar Association is deeply committed to grassroots impact.

  • We have actively promoted solar energy in villages
  • Distributed solar lanterns to support rural electrification
  • Conducted awareness programs on clean energy adoption

Solar Smart Village / Solar Smart City Program

We have developed a Solar Smart Village / Solar Smart City model, which has been submitted to multiple state governments.

This program aims to:

  • Provide free electricity
  • Ensure free water supply
  • Enable sustainable infrastructure using solar energy
  • Improve quality of life through renewable solutions

We are currently awaiting government responses and look forward to working closely with authorities to implement these initiatives.
